5 Enemies to Lovers Books You Need to Read Like Yesterday
Enemies to lovers is next level delicious. That’s just science. When “I hate you” turns into “I love you" it feels earned. And the beautiful tension that’s weaved throughout the middle? *Chefs Kiss!
While we all eagerly wait for Wish (I’m writing as fast as I can, I promise) and the moment Zadriel’s nickname for Mora, Little Witch, goes from a derogatory term to a term of endearment - it’s everything - I have some wonderful enemies to lovers book suggestions that will help pass the time. You’re very welcome. ;)
Must-Read Enemies to Lovers Books
1. Between Life and Death by Jaclyn Kot
Between Life and Death by Jaclyn Kot is the dark fantasy, slow burn romance, makes you cry at 4am (or maybe that's just me haha) book you NEED.
Think Persephone and Hades meets the Witch Burning Trials. Sage lives in a world where having magic is a death sentence. She hides her magic, watching in horror when others are caught and executed. Until something happens and hiding her power isn’t worth the sacrifice… but Von has other plans, and they don’t involve Sage revealing herself.
Enter the kidnapping trope, with a very generous serving of found family.
I was fortunate enough to read an ARC of this book back in March and I absolutely fell in love with it. Even better, Jaclyn is just a wonderful, talented, amazing human being that I am so grateful to know.

2. King of Storms and Feathers by Juno Heart
Steamy, angsty, enemies to lovers, fae romance with a strong female lead and a hot villain mmc? Yes, yes, yes!
King of Storms and Feathers by the lovely Juno Heart is the BEST amnesia trope I’ve read. Our main character wakes up in a slave market, injured and confused. From the very first page, she can’t remember anything, except a city of ruins and a boy in the woods. Someone she desperately wants to get back to.
Unfortunately for her, she is purchased by the King Arrowyn, a powerful fae with a strong hatred for humans, and he has no intentions of letting her go.

3. Wicked is the Reaper by Nisha J. Tuli
Looking for a quick enemies to lovers read? Meet Wicked is the Reaper by Nisha J. Tuli.
Rowan waits to find out who wins the Hunt, and ultimately her hand. But the very last thing she expected was for the Reaper, a monster that haunts the forest, to arrive with the largest stag.
If you love a Beauty and the Beast retelling, adore the one bed trope, enjoy forced proximity and are a total sucker for the villain getting the girl, boom, this book is for you!

4. The Unseelie Prince by Kathryn Kingsley
What’s a fae to do when the throne is there for the taking, but he can only have it if he takes a bride? Obviously steal a human and trick her into a bargain that ends with her marrying him. That’s basic fae math, am I right?
Valroy turns Abigail’s world upside down, tossing her into his eerie maze. If she can solve it, he’ll grant her deepest wish. But if she can’t… she may find herself crowned as his Queen, but she surely won’t survive for long.
This is a dark fantasy horror, with a slow burn romance over four books. And Valroy is definitely the bad guy. But hey, who doesn’t love a good villain?

5. King of Battle and Blood by Scarlett St. Clair
What would you do if marrying the enemy, a horrific Vampire King, would end the war? Because Isolde felt her only option was to say yes. Although, she has plans to assassinate him the moment she had the chance.
King Adrian, on the other hand, views this marriage as his revenge. One he’s been working for since he was reborn. The reason? Well, let’s just say it will shatter Isolde’s world.
We have enemies that can’t keep their hands off each other, to lovers that… well, ok, they can’t keep their hands off each other. But, listen, the hate banging is delicious. And the reveals? You’re gonna love them.
You know it’s on KU. Go check it out.
